How it works
Three steps to being ready
Gap check

Assessment

Answers before you get in touch
Does WITS issue the Cyber Essentials certificate?
No. WITS is not a certification body. Certificates are issued by certification bodies licensed by IASME, which runs the scheme for the National Cyber Security Centre. Harrison gets you ready and helps you through the assessment.
How long does it take?
It depends on what the gap check finds. A small office with up to date devices can be ready quickly; one with unsupported computers or shared admin passwords takes longer. You get an estimate after the gap check.
How much will it cost in total?
Harrison's time is charged at £40 an hour remote or £55 an hour onsite in Milton Keynes, and you know the expected hours before work starts. The certification body charges its own fee for the assessment, paid directly to them.
Can you promise we will pass?
No, and nobody honestly can. The assessment is carried out by the certification body. What Harrison can do is make sure the answers you give are true and that the gaps are fixed first.
What about Cyber Essentials Plus?
Plus adds a hands on technical audit by the certification body. The preparation is the same, and Harrison can help you get ready for it.
We only use Microsoft 365 and a few laptops. Is that in scope?
Yes. Cloud services, laptops, phones used for work and your router are all covered by the scheme, and they are usually where the gaps are.
